Athletic, fun-to-drive manners
Beautiful, premium design
Available turbocharged engine
Impressive roster of standard safety features
Apple CarPlay/Android Auto standard on all but base model

Cons
Not as roomy as a Honda CR-V or Toyota RAV4

Interior Comfort
Mazda cabins always feel more premium than mainstream, full of classy touches such as the elegant chrome-surround vents, push-button start and a 7-inch infotainment touch screen in the 2019 CX-5. Like the competition, the rear seats are more comfortable for two rather than three, but at least the wide-opening doors make child seats easy to install and use. Behind the second row is 30.9 cubic feet of luggage space, expanding to 59.6 when those 40/20/40-split/fold seats are completely down. For some context, the Honda CR-V provides 37.6/75.8 cubic feet. The CR-V also wins the rear-legroom prize: 40.4 inches versus the Mazda’s 39.6.

Favorite Features
SMART CITY BRAKE SUPPORT
This feature can reduce the severity of an impact or perhaps prevent one altogether. When an accident is imminent, the system will sound an alert. If the driver doesn’t respond in time, it will apply the brakes automatically. It works at speeds of up to 19 mph and is standard in every 2019 CX-5.

LANE-DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM
Using sensors and a windshield-mounted camera to read the painted markings, this system alerts the driver with a low-pitched audible warning when the vehicle is drifting from its lane. If no action is taken, it will gently pull the vehicle back into position.

Standard Features
The 2019 CX-5 is available in Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve and new Signature trim levels. The least expensive CX-5 Sport model includes 17-inch wheels, cloth-covered seats, keyless entry/ignition, leather-wrapped steering wheel/shift knob, electronic parking brake, Smart City Brake Support, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and a rearview camera. The basic infotainment system includes a 7-inch touch screen, AM/FM/HD radio, Bluetooth, two USB ports, auxiliary audio input, and a 4-speaker setup. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration is standard from the Touring trim upward.

Factory Options
Speaking of the Touring trim, it’s another $2,265, but it’s well worth stretching the budget. It brings a power-adjustable driver’s seat, simulated leather upholstery, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, rear privacy glass, rain-sensing wipers, self-leveling headlights with automatic high beams, two rear USB charging ports, and an array of driver aids (adaptive cruise control, Smart Brake Support and lane-departure warning/assist). Grand Touring models have leather seating, 10-speaker Bose audio system, and navigation. Further options include all-wheel drive (Grand Touring and Signature have that as standard), head-up display, heated steering wheel and heated rear outboard seats.

Engine & Transmission
The base engine in the 2019 CX-5 is a 2.5-liter unit with cylinder deactivation, which is a first for a 4-cylinder vehicle in North America and a contributor to the impressive average of 28 mpg. This engine is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission, with front-wheel drive (FWD) as the default setup; all-wheel drive (AWD) is available. Maximum towing capacity is 2,000 pounds.

The new 250-horsepower turbocharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine also links to a 6-speed automatic transmission, with standard all-wheel drive. The new 2.2-liter turbodiesel, standard in the CX-5 Signature, puts out 168 horsepower and a healthy 290-lb-ft of torque. With both of these new powerplants, the new CX-5 is rated to tow 3,500 pounds.

2.5-liter inline-4
187 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm
186 lb-ft of torque @ 3,250 rpm (4,000 rpm for AWD models)
EPA city/highway fuel economy: 25/31 mpg (FWD), 24/30 mpg (AWD)

2.5-liter turbocharged inline-4
250 horsepower @ 5,000 rpm (93-octane premium gasoline; 227 horsepower with regular)
310 lb-ft of torque @ 2,000 rpm
EPA city/highway fuel economy: 23/28 mpg (FWD), 22/27 mpg (AWD)

2.2-liter turbocharged diesel inline-4
168 horsepower @ 4,000 rpm
290 lb-ft of torque @ 2,000 rpm
EPA city/highway fuel economy: 27/30 (AWD)

Video

Hey how you doing guys welcome.

I got this 2019 mazda, cx-5 sky active all right, and this is how we open the hood.

I'm saying this vehicle has a 2.5 liter engine intakes 5.5, quarts synthetic oil or five and a half quarts of synthetic oil all right just so.

You know this is how you open the hood.

The latch is right in the middle check that grill, though, that grilled dog, though okay, we spot the oil cap and, like I told you before this car takes synthetic oil 0w20 synthetic oil all right and the dipstick is right.

Next to the oil cap fill me.

The settings of this vehicle are the same as the 2018.

has the same cover and all that has two bolts hit it with an eight millimeter socket and two clips.

Once you pull pull that cover, you see the oil drain plug and the oil filter right next to it all right me.

In my case, I will remove the oil drain plug first, once I drain all the oil, I do the oil filter and be careful if the engine is hot.

What exactly? If the engine is hot, the oil is hot they're, always hot you're gonna get hot fill me now.

We drain both sides, the oil filter and the engine through the oil pan, don't forget to clean where the oil gasket sits.

This is a 67002, that's the number of the power for the oil filter in this brand.

By the way.

Okay, you don't get that twisted just so you know.

Remove the gasket put it back by hand, you don't need no tool.

Okay and this here's a trick if the oil filter is too slippery to tie it by hand, spray some brake cleaner and then try to tighten it again by hand.

You're gonna have a better grip.

Okay, we put the oil filter back snug it by hand.

Now we put the oil drain plug by hand, you don't need a gun, nothing, special! Okay! Do it by hand? First, you don't want to up the thread, excuse my fringe, then tie it snug it with the ratchet and the socket put the cover back.

Put the two eight millimeters bolts back, don't forget to clip the plastic.

Clip put it back once you do that bring the car down, get the funnel put the oil in the 0w20 synthetic oil all right get that there you go before.

I finish this video.

I just want to say thank you to you all for subscribe to my channel and if you didn't subscribe to my channel, please do it now, because now is the time.

The time is right feel me.

I mean you can do it at any time, but as soon as I'm here, I gotta remind you feel me and now we're going to reset the oil light.

Okay, this is the knob.

We're going to use it to surf through the menu go to applications, then go to vehicle status, monitor, go to maintenance, go to oil change click! The nub go to reset just turned it up.

Are you sure you want to say all the change? Yes reset? That's all you got to do.

That's how you receive the oil light.

All right do the same with the any other service like tire rotation.

Okay, that's how you reset the service and thank you all for watching this video.

I appreciate it subscribe to my channel.

Don't forget that if you didn't do it, do it now share the video hit the like button? Destroy that like button alright and share the video.

Don't forget that if you have any comments, anything to say about this video anything to share about this vehicle, I'm saying just put in the comment box and don't forget bro.
